AEC and Middleton Pest Control Sign Technical Agreement

Acoustic Emission Consulting and Middleton Lawn & Pest Control of Orlando, FL have engaged in a technical agreement to develop procedures for termite detection using the AED-2000 acoustic instrument produced by AEC. Middleton's chief entomologist, Dr. Philip "Doc" Nichols, is directing the program. Photo shows a Middleton technician using the AED-2000 and SP-1 probe to listen for sounds of drywood termite feeding activity. Middleton has been an innovator in the development of localized treatment strategies for drywood termite infestations. The AED-2000 will aid in the discovery of such infestations, as well as verification of the effectiveness of termiticide application. Localized treatment strategies eliminate the need for costly and hazardous fumigation techniques for drywood termite extermination.
